This is another one of those Valentine's Posts...

Ten years ago, this wasn't the life I had pictured for myself. This town, this career, (ahem) the single life...nothing about what I am doing now is at all how I had dreamed.

This was the 8th Valentine's day in a row that I have spent as a single woman. Is that a bad thing? No. But when your hearts deepest desire is to be married and have a family, it makes Valentine's Day a little bit harder.

Don't get me wrong, I am blessed beyond measure, and I am beyond grateful for this season of life that the Lord has me in. But, this post is for the single girl who finds herself in the same season of waiting, tonight. The girl who is in the same season of lonely.

Because, if I could sit across the table from you tonight, sweet girl, I would whisper words of HOPE to your sweet soul. I would tell you that I understand exactly what you are going through. I would tell you how I struggle with trusting God as He continues to say no. I would tell you that these have been one of the hardest and one of the greatest seasons of my life.

No, this season may not be anything like I ever dreamed it would be. But girl, it sure is rich. Rich with friendship. Rich in pain. Rich with adventure. Rich with a Savior who cares deeply for our tomorrow. So don't waste your seconds wishing life was the way you had it planned out at age 15. Because if Iv'e learned anything, it's that this life you are living-right here, right now-this life is full of abundance in an almighty Father.

Sweet friend, He has great plans for you. He wants to use you for His Kingdom. You've just got to be willing to let go of your plans and take hold of his calling in your life. You've got to sit still-sit quiet in His presence and listen to Him breathe promises of HOPE. You've got to trust that the Creator of all things-including the very stars you walk beneath-knows you by name and has handwritten your love story. The greatest love story of all. The story of a Savior who came to this earth to save you so that you could live an abundant life for His name-for His glory.

Sweet girl, you don't need a man that on one day out of the year treats you like a princess. Rest assured, one day, your prince will come. But, find joy and rest in the truth that the King has already come to romance this weary world, every day of your life you are seen as a queen to Him, and there is no greater love than that of our Father.
